I’m Sam Aguilar, the heart and hands behind Bloom & Threshold.

For years, I worked in operations and event management, helping other people’s ideas come to life. I loved the details, the energy, and the sense of creating something memorable — but somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to build something of my own.

Bloom & Threshold grew out of that desire. I’ve always been drawn to the little things that make a house feel like a home: a warm welcome at the door, seasonal touches that shift with the year, and the beauty of nature woven into everyday life. Wreath-making became the perfect way to bring those ideas together.

Each wreath I create is a mix of my love for design, hospitality, and community. I think of them less as decorations and more as invitations — to gather, to celebrate, to pause before stepping inside.

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me outside walking through my hometown, Evanston, IL, with my husband Fred (my biggest cheerleader) and our goldendoodle, Roni aka Macaroni (Bloom & Threshold’s unofficial mascot and my constant studio companion). Together, they keep me inspired and grounded as I build this dream.
